I enjoy printing and painting on clay, and photographs I take on journeys around the city or in Wales are a direct inspiration for my clay work.  The photographs are transferred to silk-screens so I can print directly on to the clay. I particularly like imagery of changing landscapes, large construction sites and old industrial sites.

I also stencil onto the clay, using coloured slips to print the images. The printing can be combined with drawing and painting onto the clay to create rich surfaces. It can then be hand-formed into vessels, plates etc.
